1. Whale watching

Port Macquarie is one of the best New South Wales destinations for whale watching. It’s a coastal location with many vantage points. Humpback whales start their migration north in mid May, then back down south by September to complete the season. The Circus

Port Macquarie is home to the Australian Surf Championships – usual held around July – August. There are often exhibitions to check out at The Glasshouse. The Gallery presents around 20 to 25 diverse exhibitions each year featuring contemporary, indigenous, historical, traditional, design and sculptural artworks as well as a number of prominent social history exhibitions.
