Lighthouse Beach Port Macquarie

Lighthouse Beach lies to the south of Port Macquarie, with a scenic coastal road that allows for easy driving. The sand is nine kilometres long and offers protection from the beach’s summer northeast winds. This beach is popular for surfing due to its diverse swell and short powerful waves.

The beach has areas for long walks, camel rides, and fishing. The northern end of the beach is patrolled during school holidays.

Visit the historic Tacking Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1879 and is the final stop along the scenic coastal walk. At the top of this lighthouse, you can see along the coastline, or watch for whales from May through November if you’re lucky.
